New Delhi: Amidst heavy protests from the opposition demanding revocation of suspension of the 12 MPs, the Rajya Sabha is adjourned till 2 pm today.Meanwhile, in the lower house National People’s Party (NPP) MP Agatha Sangma gave an adjournment motion notice over the demand to repeal AFSPA.
Speaking on the suspension of the 12 MPs, Union Parliamentary Affairs Min Pralhad Joshi said, ” We explained why they had to be suspended. The country has witnessed whatever took place. It’s on record. If they apologise even today, we’re ready to withdraw the suspension. “
The BJP held a parliamentary party meeting at Ambedkar International Centre on Tuesday ahead of the session. According to close sources, the venue was shifted due to repair works going on in the auditorium, where all party MPs meet. Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, Jitendra Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal and other BJP leaders were seen at the venue to attend the meeting. Sources report that PM Modi stressed on BJP MPs attendance at the winter session during the meet where discussion on revocation was also addressed.
