On Friday, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh claimed that the increasing economic power, the technological ability and ideal foreign policy has created a new India, a country of equilibrium and prudence in a quickly changing world. He highlighted in his address during the final day of the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 that India is a growing number of countries in the Indo-Pacific and the Global South seeing it as a reliable and trusted partner.
According to Singh, the development in India has a good effect on the world. When India moves in the direction of power, peace and prosperity, the world is well off, he said, and this would be done in four main areas that India plays a role towards international well-being.
“To start with, a stable India boosts the international economy. Second, the Indian example of an innovative digital civic infrastructure can serve as an example of open and decentralized governance. Third, the ethical attitude of the country towards the new technologies, including AI, cyber and space is becoming a standard on the international level. And fourth, the Indian dedication to peace, climate responsibility and humanitarian principles bring moral significance to the global affairs.”
At the occasion, Singh also introduced another big project named Project Ekam that is an Indian military-focused artificial intelligence-based project. According to the Defence Ministry, the project will guarantee complete dominance over data security and develop AI tools that are particularly specific to the military terms, operational principles, and the demands of strategic needs. The statement included the fact that Project Ekam offers one platform that can deploy all local and open-source AI models, and it can become a game-changer in the defence forces of India.
Rajnath Singh emphasized that India is about to influence the world discourse with strategic independence, with confidence and responsibility, with the trust of the world as the land of reforms and as the country which consistently insists on sovereignty and rules-based international order. The necessity to be vigilant at the face of adversities that may be in the form of terrorism, cross-border extremism, maritime conflicts, any efforts to change the status quo on a territory, and emergence of information warfare was also noted by him.
