Udaipur: Chief Minster Ashok Gehlot visited the family of the deceased Kanhaiya Lal, to extend his condolences. The CM was accompanied by State’s top officials and the kin were handed over a compensation cheque of Rs. 51 Lakhs.

The family members expressed their concern over the inaction by Rajasthan Police when Kanhaiya Lal approached them to file a complaint days before his murder.

CM Ashok Gehlot in a statement said that the cops have been suspended for negligence and action might be taken against them as well. The family has been granted State protection on CM’s order. The victim’s son demanded that the killers be hanged.

Tensions peaked in the city when the case came surfaced and hundreds of protestors from various Hindu organizations held up saffron flags and chanted for justice.

In initial questioning by the terror investigation agency it has been revealed that the murderers have links with a Pakistan based terror group, further inquiries are on.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot also appealed to religious leaders and social activists to ensure peace in the society.
