There has been a disturbing report of stone-pelting in Bihar. An unidentified person has been accused of throwing a stone at a moving Bhagalpur-Jaynagar Express train. As a result, one of the train’s passengers was hurt. Supaul Voice, an account on X, posted images and videos of the incident.
Images of the alleged offender appear to show him throwing stones at the train, and another image shows a rail passenger who appears to have been injured during the incident, specifically bleeding from his nose.
“When stones were thrown at the Bhagalpur Jaynagar Intercity Express between Darbhanga and Kakarghati, @spjdivn sir detained the perpetrator right away. The railway administration is requested to take strict action against the culprit so that such an incident does not happen again,” the post was captioned on X.
In response to the post, a number of users demanded that the accused face harsh punishment. “Arrest him as soon as possible and give him a hard punishment,” one user wrote. “From a security perspective, citizens will also need to be vigilant against anti-social elements and play a cooperative role, in addition to the Railway Administration and RPF. Only then can they be controlled,” said a second commenter.
The Railways Ministry said that they had identified the perpetrator and filed a case against him under a number of sections after taking notice of the incident. They put it on X: “Taking immediate action on the incident of stone pelting by anti-social elements, we have identified the accused and registered a case under various sections.”
The Ministry also issued a public call on the populace to report any incidents of stone-pelting or antisocial behavior to the police as soon as possible.
