The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha has sought permission from the Delhi Police to protest at Vijay Chowk. However, permission has not been received from the Delhi Police yet.
President Donald Trump’s assertions of having brokered a ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan have triggered a strong response from the Congress party. The party criticized Trump’s statements, alleging that they not only ‘hyphenated’ the two nations, but also appeared to place Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same level as Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Indian officials have reiterated that the ceasefire agreement was reached through bilateral talks, and have pushed back on claims of third-party mediation.
