New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, who recently got disqualified as a Member of Parliament, has confirmed that he’ll be leaving the official house today. He got disqualified due to the defamation case charged against him. His mother, Sonia Gandhi, has taken most of his belongings, and the remaining have been moved.
Sources reveal that Rahul Gandhi’s belongings were shifted to Sonia Gandhi’s home on 10 Janpath, Delhi. Along with that, Rahul Gandhi will also hand over the bungalow located in Tughlaq Lane to the secretariat of the Lok Sabha. He has lived in this bungalow for over 20 years, but now he’ll be shifting to his mother’s place.
The PTI also reported that Rahul Gandhi started living with his mother on 10 Janpath Delhi. Rahul Gandhi has been charged with criminal defamation case by the Gujarat Court for using the surname “Modi.” The court has sentenced him to two-year.
The Congress Leaders addressed this situation and referred to it as a Melodrama. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also said about this situation, “You know the lines of propriety, what is acceptable in the political system, the legal system. He (Rahul Gandhi) has been convicted by a court. Then, there are automatic procedures”.
Due to this conviction, Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from the Parliament. After that, he was sent a notice by the secretariat of the Lok Sabha to vacate all the Government premises by 22 April. Rahul Gandhi also challenged the court in the sessions, but unfortunately, they were rejected.
