Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took to his Twitter handle to lambast the Modi government, remarking that the death of 60 farmers at the protest site did not embarrass the government, while the tractor rally was scheduled to take place on January 26 is going to embarrass them.

In his tweet on Wednesday, Gandhi wrote in Hindi – “The Modi government was not embarrassed by the death of more than 60 farmers but they are embarrassed by the tractor rally!”

It is noteworthy that, the agitating farmers on January 7 took out a tractor rally on the highways of the capital and its outskirts, which was only a minor one. The agitating farmers, however, are going to hold a massive tractor rally on January 26, when the nation will be celebrating the 72nd Republic Day.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the committee set up for listening to the grievances of the agitating farmers against the new farm laws to present its report before the court within two months. The court added – “The first sitting of the committee, formed to listen to the grievances of farmers and views of the government, should be held within 10 days”.
