New Delhi: On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, being the LoP in the Lok Sabha, heavily critiqued the BJP-ruled Central government, claiming it to be creating a ‘Chakravyuh’ around potential areas like the youth, farmers, women and small-scale businesses. In a typical manner, Gandhi then went on to dump the current political shape into the Mahabharata, which was a virtually invincible war formation.
Addressing the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi identified six individuals at the centre of this so-called “Lotus formation”: Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, Home Minister Mr Amit Shah, RSS Chief Mr Mohan Bhagwat, NSA Mr Ajit Doval, Head of the world’s richest business persons Mukesh Ambani & Gautam Adani. He called these people the new maestros of a devious political and new economic web that he claimed was aimed at ensnaring and further fleecing different groups of Indian society.
In an interview with Goss, Gandhi equated this situation to what was described in the Kurukshetra, where Abhimanyu was enclosed in the Chakravyuh and was killed. He informed us that “Chakravyuh” also means “Padmavyuh,” which is the formation of the lotus and reflects the current formation of the political and economic world. He vilified autonomy and richness, which has been concentrated in Tycoon and a few directors, equating it to historical treachery and traps.
When the honorary Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, entered the scene. Gandhi fired back at him with a comment alluding that, if necessary, he could bring it down to three names. He elaborated on his allegations by identifying three forces behind this “Chakravyuh”:
- Monopoly Capital: Gandhi complained that an environment existed where the government assisted a few elites into cornering many people’s wealth to create economic exploitation.
- Institutional Agencies: He condemned operations performed by investigating agencies such as the CBI, ED, and IT departments for political works.
- Political Executive: Gandhi criticized the central political leadership, accusing it of continuing with this alleged monopolistic and oppressive thought process.
