Kohima: On Day 3 of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Rahul Gandhi continued the journey from Viswema, Kohima in Nagaland. The yatra, led by Gandhi, entered Nagaland on Monday evening, reaching Khuzama village in Kohima district, bordering Manipur, accompanied by party colleagues.
The march, covering 6,713 km through 100 Lok Sabha constituencies in 15 states, combines buses and on-foot segments. It is set to conclude in Mumbai on March 20 or 21. Despite initial plans for a complete walking model, time constraints led to a more hybrid approach, as Rahul Gandhi stated in a YouTube video.
Rahul preferred a comprehensive walking model but acknowledged the challenges posed by time constraints. He is actively working on introducing more walking elements to the yatra, blending both modes of travel. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra marks a significant initiative by Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress party leader, to connect with people across the nation.
In the YouTube video, Rahul discussed the unique aspects of the yatra and acknowledged the importance of incorporating a more hybrid approach. The yatra’s distinctive nature lies in its extensive route, covering diverse regions and constituencies, facilitating direct engagement with the citizens.
The journey spans 66 days, traversing 15 days from east to west, commencing in Manipur and concluding in Maharashtra. This strategic timing aligns with the Lok Sabha elections, adding a political dimension to the yatra’s purpose. Rahul Gandhi’s efforts to bridge gaps and connect with people from various walks of life underscore the political significance of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
As the yatra progresses, it serves as a platform for dialogue, understanding, and connection, encapsulating the essence of democratic engagement and participatory politics. The blend of travel modes reflects the pragmatic approach to address logistical challenges while maintaining the yatra’s overarching objective of fostering a sense of unity and justice across the nation.
