New Delhi: Punjab chief minister-designate Bhagwant Mann, AAP submitted resignatioan as a member of Parliament ahead of taking oath on March 16th.

Mann, a comedian turned politician, is a two-time Lok Sabha MP from Sangrur parliamentary constituency in the state. Prior to his departure to the National Capital on Monday, Mann took to Indian version of Twitter sharing his journey of taking ministerial charge.

“Going to Delhi today, I am resigning from the post of Sangrur MP. The people of Sangrur have given me so much love for so many years, thank you. Now that I have the opportunity to serve the whole of Punjab, I promise the people of Sangrur that in a few months their voice will be heard again in the Lok Sabha- the post read.

The Kejriwal Sena gamboled home by winning 92 seats in the 117-member Punjab assembly. It decimated the Congress and the SAD-BSP combine. Mann won from Dhuri assembly seat after defeating Congress candidate Dalvir Singh Goldy by a margin of 58,206 votes.

After Punjab’s massive win, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) decided to contest election from all the 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, in Goa the saffron party is mum about its ministerial choice.Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai has summoned the session of the state legislative Assembly for the new MLAs to take oath on Tuesday. The incumbent CM Pramod Sawant on Saturday resigned after speculations of him to continue the term made rounds.

BJP won 20 seats in the polls to the 40-member Assembly.
