Pune: The Pune Police have accused members of the deceased teenager’s family in connection with the Kalyani Nagar Porsche Taycan hit-and-run incident of trying to force driver Gangadhar to accept responsibility for the accident. It was also reported that the key respondents in this matter, the minor’s father, Vishal Agarwal and his grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, offered Gangadhar money to admit to the responsibility for the May 19 accident and threatened him similarly.
Although the accused, Gangadhar’s wife, and their daughter were relatives of the deceased, the minor’s father, a well-known city builder, pressurized Gangadhar into pushing the vehicle, according to Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar. According to Kumar, Gangadhar’s statement revealed that the boy’s father called him around 2:45 am after the accident, and he told me to take the blame on myself. The father’s appeal touched the child’s feelings, while threats and rewards have also been promised by him.
The Pune Police, who complained by Gangadhar, filed by translating the IPC sections of kidnapping and threatening against Vishal and Surendra. They claimed in the HC that Gangadhar was detained at the Agarwal residence in Wadgaonsheri on the night of the incident to extort confession. He had reportedly left his clothes at the Agarwal house.
There was a court hearing, and during this hearing, the police wanted to remove the BMW which supposedly was used to transfer Gangadhar. The previous offence records of Surendra Agarwal, such as cheating, attempt to murder, and Stone pelting threat, were considered to remand his custody.
Accused Vishal, who was already in jail for another non-bailable offence that arose from the accident, has been mentioned in the FIR. The minor, currently lodged in a government observatory home as the Juvenile Justice Board rejected his bail application, apparently drove the car. At the same time, under the influence of alcohol and Junior’s negligence cost two software engineers, Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, their precious lives.
