New Delhi: Protests in the National capital also escalated as the MPs led a march from Parliament. A showdown between cops and the Congress members ensued and some people also sustained injuries reports stated. Simultaneously Mahila Congress workers who also staged a dharna outside the AICC office on Akbar Road were detained and shoved into buses deployed by the police dept.

Meanwhile, a group of 15 -20 youth Congress Mumbai workers were detained on Wednesday as they protested against the questioning of the Congress interim Chief. The party workers apparently staged a rail roko protest- as they stopped a Gujarat-bound express train around 10.15 am on platform no. 6 of the Borivali station, officials of the Government Railway Police (GRP) said.

The agitators were taken off the rails within a few minutes and the rail services resumed the officials added. Some amongst are also said to have been detained.

Sonia Gandhi arrived at the ED office today for the third round of questioning. So far Ms Gandhi has been questioned for 8 hours in the questioning that began on Thursday last week.
