Rohini Sector 17: The Delhi Police on Thursday said to have busted a prostitution racket. A 42-year-old man, Vikram and seven women were detained it said while briefing the reporters. The accused as per the information given by the police was nabbed on Wednesday when a team of KNK Marg police. Intriguing details into the operation stated that a head constable carrying currency notes of fixed series signed by the SHO was sent to the spot as a decoy customer who then hinted the team formed to take action.

The head constable met a person later identified as Vikram and paid Rs 500 to him after a deal was fixed. Following this, the women were called and one of them was selected and Rs 500 was paid to her,” Tayal Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohini said.

Acting on a tip-off the police raided the facility operating in Rohini sector -17. All accused have been identified as housewives who were working in the brothel to make an extra living.

After detailed interrogation, the accused women have been served notices under relevant sections of the CrPC.
