Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle to stretch out his wishes to the people of three North-Eastern Indian states, Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura, on their 49th Statehood Day. These three states attained statehood on January 21, 1972, under the North-Eastern Areas Reorganization Act 1971.
Modi, on his Twitter handle, extended his wishes to the people of 3 different states from the beauteous North-Eastern part of the nation, through 3 separate Tweets. In his first tweet, acknowledging the state of Manipur’s contribution to various developments of the nation, he wrote – “Statehood day greetings to the people of Manipur. India is proud of Manipur’s contribution to national development. Manipur is a powerhouse of innovation and sporting talent. I wish the state the very best in its journey towards progress”.
In his next tweet, the Prime Minister wished the people of Tripura, lauding their ‘outstanding progress in various fields’. The tweet read – “Best wishes to the people of Tripura on the special occasion of their Statehood Day. The culture and warm-hearted nature of the people of Tripura is admired across India. The state has achieved outstanding progress in various fields. May the same spirit continue”.
In his 3rd tweet, the PM extended his congratulations and good wishes to the people of Meghalaya, writing – “On their Statehood Day, greetings to my sisters and brothers of Meghalaya. The state is known for its remarkable kindness and spirit of brotherhood. Youngsters from Meghalaya are creative and enterprising. May the state keep scaling new heights of progress in the times to come.”
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted marking the Statehood Day and pledging to work towards prosperity under the leadership of Modi Ji. His tweet read – “Warmest greetings to the people of my state on the occasion of Statehood Day. Let us pledge to work together for peaceful co-existence, progress and prosperity of our beautiful state. May the state achieve zenith of development under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji”.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Statehood Day has shared a video clip on Twitter to honor the leader who showed the path towards the creation of the state.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also took to his Twitter handle to share his video extending his greetings to the people of the state, captioning it – “I extend warm greetings to my beloved sisters & brother on Statehood Day of our state. Tripura is witnessing a new era of progress & prosperity under the leadership of Adarniya Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Together we shall strive to realize the hopes & aspirations of every citizen”.
