New Delhi: India recorded 25,467 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry reported. The recovery rate at 97.68 per cent accounted for 39,486 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,17,20,112. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.55 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 29 consecutive days.
The active caseload stands at 3,19,551 accounting for 0.98 per cent of the total number of cases. A decline in active cases by 14,373 was recorded in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.34 per cent reported 354 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,35,110
As Maharashtra recorded 27 new cases of the Delta Plus Variant on Monday, the state has initiated genome conducting campaigns for COVID patients on a regular basis to ascertain the extent of the spread of the mutants. Kerala, the second worst hit state has surpassed 30 lakh cases overall. The State health Minister Veena George said, “the govt is taking the best possible measures to contain the disease.”
Over 63.85 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, the health ministry said. 58,89,97,805 beneficiaries have been immunized in the past 24 hours.
