Bollywood: Bombay High Court (HC) denied the bail plea of businessman Raj Kundra in the alleged pornography case. He shall stay in jail till further orders. The High Court said that there was nothing wrong with the Magistrate Court’s order when it remanded Kundra to stay in police custody on July 20.
Kundra had challenged the remand order and had sought immediate release. He stated that the remand order issued against him by a magistrate’s court had not been notified or issued summons before arrest as was required under the Code of Criminal Procedure. However, rejecting his plea the HC reiterated that his remand and subsequent judicial custody were ‘within the conformity of law and did not require interference’.
This is not the first time when his bail plea was rejected. Earlier on July 23, Kundra’s police custody was extended after the Mumbai Police informed the Court that they suspect the money earned from pornography was used for online betting.
