Uttar Pradesh: On his visit to Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi is scheduled to launch the largest pan-India scheme aimed at strengthening the Indian Health sector- PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission at 1:15 pm. He is also scheduled to inaugurate various development projects worth around Rs 5200 crore for his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, the PMO said in a statement.
Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is determined to bridge the voids in public health infrastructure, primarily in critical care facilities and primary care in both the urban and rural areas. PMASBY scheme would provide support for 17,788 rural health and wellness centers in 10 high focus states. Furthermore, 11,024 urban health and wellness centers will be established in all the states.Critical care services forms a paramount part of the network that will be established to provide prompt healthcare to all.
Integrated Publich Health Labs would be set up to promulgate feasability of full range of diagnostic services. The scheme targets to build an IT supported disease surveillance system by developing a network of surveillance laboratories at block, district, regional and national levels, in Metropolitan areas. It aims operationalisation of 17 new Public Health Units and amplifying 33 existing Public Health Units for basic to advance needs.
Under the scheme, a National Institution for One Health, 4 New National Institutes for Virology, a Regional Research Platform for WHO South East Asia Region, 9 Biosafety Level III laboratories, 5 New Regional National Centre for Disease Control will also be established.
