New Delhi: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikha Hasina arrived in Delhi today to attend Narendra Modi oath taking ceremony scheduled for June 9. In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday,  “President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe; President of Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu; Vice-President of Seychelles, Ahmed Afif; Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth; Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’; and Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, have accepted the invitation to attend.”

Security has been beefed up in the national capital and special measures have also been arranged for leaders from the neighborhood and Indian Ocean region attending the high-profile event. The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by over 8,000 guests, including various professionals and cultural performers.

India has invited several leaders from neighboring countries to attend PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, who is set to become the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. Narendra Modi oath ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 9 at 7:15 pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The same evening, the Council of Ministers will also take their oaths of office and secrecy, forming part of the Prime Minister’s new cabinet.
