Bangalore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off a 26 km roadshow in Bengaluru today to support the BJP ahead of the May 10 Assembly polls in Karnataka. The roadshow, which started at JP Nagar 7th Phase and will end at Sankey Road in Malleswaram, will cover 18 Assembly constituencies.
Accompanied by MPs Tejasvi Surya and PC Mohan, Modi’s campaign vehicle was met with enthusiastic crowds along the way. However, the Congress has accused the BJP of plotting to murder AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and his family.
A purported audio clip of a conversation between a BJP candidate and a local leader has been released by AICC general secretary-in-charge of Karnataka, Randeep Singh Surjewala. In the clip, the candidate says he would “wipe off” Kharge’s wife and children.
Following concerns raised on social media regarding traffic restrictions in Bengaluru due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned 36-km roadshow, the BJP has extended the event over two days.
Now, the Prime Minister will cover the constituencies of Bengaluru Central on Saturday, from 10 am to 1 pm, and Bengaluru South on Sunday, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. This revised schedule promises to be more convenient for residents and visitors alike.
