New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully laid the foundation stone of 4 new Medical Colleges today, on September 30th. The event took place via a video conference and was attended by many dignitaries. Along with this, PM Modi also inaugurated the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) or Institute of Petrochemicals Technology, Jaipur, initiating new steps towards development.
PM Modi laid the foundation of stone for these new medical colleges in Banswara, Sirohi, Hanumangarh and Dasua districts of Rajasthan. The event took place at 11 AM and was also attended by Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
“We are working on a new national health policy to transform the health sector of the country. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to Ayushman Bharat and now Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission are part of this,” the PM said. “This pandemic has taught a lot in the health sector across the world. Every country is engaged in dealing with this crisis in its way. India has resolved to increase its strength, self-reliance during this time,” he added.
The Prime Minister also ensured that the government’s efforts to establish one medical college or an institution for post-graduate medical education in each district of the country. He also stressed government’s focus on preventive healthcare, Ayurveda and yoga.
