New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi virtually gave sanction letters to 32,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) on Sunday as well as flagging off six new Vande Bharat trains and releasing the first installment of ₹32 crore for the construction of houses. Additionally, he virtually gave 46,000 PMAY-G beneficiaries nationwide their keys.
The Centre has approved 1,13,400 houses for the poor in Jharkhand under the PMAY-G scheme.
“We are determined for the rapid development of Jharkhand. Today at around 10 am, I will have the privilege of flagging off six ‘Vande Bharat’ trains at Tatanagar, as well as laying the foundation stone and inaugurating many more projects. Apart from this, I will also be a part of the program related to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin,” Modi wrote on X ahead of his visit.
PM Modi flags off six Vande Bharat trains
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually signaled the trains’ departure from Tatanagar, Jharkhand, six additional vande Bharat trains entered the Indian Railways fleet on Sunday.
The trains will improve the connectivity on Tatanagar – Patna, Bhagalpur – Dumka – Howrah, Brahmapur – Tatanagar, Gaya – Howrah, Deoghar -Varanasi, and Rourkela – Howrah routes.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), “The new trains will help professional, corporate, and student communities, according to the official release.” “By offering a quicker means of transportation to the pilgrimage sites like Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar (Jharkhand), Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Kalighat, and Belur Math in Kolkata (West Bengal), these trains will boost religious tourism in the region” , it added.
Officials claim that the six Vande Bharat trains will have a significant positive impact on the coal mines in Dhanbad, the jute industry in Kolkata, and the iron and steel-related industries in Durgapur.
In a statement, the railway ministry said that the trains will support the rapidly growing fleet of modern innovation, which will now set to 60 trains and carry 120 passengers daily between 280 districts in 24 states and union territories.
PM Modi launches projects worth ₹660 crore
Modi also introduced worth ₹660 crore projects from Ranchi, Jharkhand. These include breaking ground on the Hazaribag town coaching depot and the Madhupur bypass line in the Deoghar district.
Additionally, Modi is dedicated to doubling the Kurkura-Kanaroan line, which is a part of the Bondamunda-Ranchi single-line segment, and the Rourkela-Gomoh route, which passes through the stations of Ranchi, Muri, and Chandrapura.
Furthermore, Durgapur’s iron and steel-related industries, Kolkata’s jute industry, and Dhanbad’s coal mining sectors will also see significant growth.
