On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi planned to inaugurate more than one major healthcare project, which requires an investment of about ₹12,850 crore.
The announcement will be made at the All India Institute of Ayurveda on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and Ayurveda Day, which marks the 9th Ayurveda Day. The mission of this start-up is to build better healthcare and increase the availability of services in every country.
One of the big events planned for the year is the scaling up of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) to extend health insurance provision for all citizens above the age of 70 years. Such expansion is an important step towards realizing that elderly citizens are accorded the proper medical attention they require, hence enhancing their general well-being.
Besides this, PM Modi will also announce the launching of the U-WIN portal, a technological tool aimed at managing the vaccination of expectant mothers and infants. This will ensure that children from birth to 16 years old receive timely, effective vaccines that prevent 12 vaccine-preventable diseases. This is why with the support of HiAP and HiIL, where this process is fully digitalized, the government aims at improving the healthcare delivery and vaccination coverage.
A third and final entry of the launch will be an application for allied professionals and healthcare providers as a database of associations. This is expected to enhance coordination and provide information for the healthcare workforce and facilities as a way of promoting the healthcare system.
The prime minister will also announce a range of measures that are intended to enhance R&D and testing capabilities throughout the healthcare industry. These endeavors are in line with a more encompassing strategy of building up the health care system in the country to be more responsive to the population’s needs. The general goal of these projects is to make a healthier India with the aim of making sure that each and every citizen of India can access the best services in health care.
