On April 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, which would be his 50th visit to the city after he came to office. On this occasion, he will inaugurate and ground-breaking all 44 development projects, which are worth ₹3,884.18 crore.
On Tuesday, Kashi region Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Dilip Patel said that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for 25 new projects worth ₹2,255.05 crore and inaugurate 19 existing projects worth ₹1,629.13 crore. Apart from that, PM Modi is also slated to address a huge crowd around Mehdiganj during his visit.
The high-profile event is secured. Regarding security and smooth conduct of the yatra, Varanasi Commissioner of Police Mohit Agarwal said that six superintendents of police, eight additional SPs, 33 deputy superintendents and around 4,000 security persons, including the police force, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and paramilitary team members, would be deployed.
They are making ready for a grand welcome for the city. Varanasi is bedecked in BJP flags, lights, hoardings and streets, as well as intersections and where the public meetings were due to occur across more than 1,000 hoardings. The preparations are being handled by local party workers and leaders with a major cleanliness campaign also launched in the time in honour of the PM’s visit.
