Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold his first in-person meeting with American President Joe Biden and later attends the Quad Summit with Biden and his Australian, Japanese counterparts Scott Morrison and Yoshihide Suga.
Joe Biden took charge as US President in January this year, and PM Modi has had multiple telephonic conversations with him. The two leaders are likely to discuss the present scenario in Afghanistan, COVID-19, trade amongst others; it would be interesting to see whether PM Modi raises Pakistan-back terror during his one-on-one interaction with the American President or in the Quad Summit.
PM Modi had a successful bilateral meeting with VP Kamala Harris. The prime minister gave a very special gift to the American Vice President. In a very touching gesture, PM Modi presented VP Harris a copy of old notifications related to her grandfather, PV Gopalan in a wooden handicraft frame. Ms Harris spoke about ‘suo moto’ which refers to Pak’s role in terrorism during the meeting with PM.
