Ujjain: Prime minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first phase of ‘Mahakal Lok’ corridor today evening. The project in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain city is said to help in enriching the experience of pilgrims and further boost tourism in the city.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has reviewed all preparations for the grand opening of the Mahakal Lok. He further tweeted, “the whole city is rejoicing with joy. This day will always be immortal in the history of Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Shri to inaugurate Shri Mahakal Lok, you are visitng Ujjain today: CM”.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that the inauguration will be a memorable moment, which the entire state shall await. Union Culture Minister G Kishan Ready too shared glimpses of the Mahakal Lok on Twitter.
The inauguration is the first phase of over 900-meter long corridor that is a part of Rs 856 crores Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor development project. The Mahakal Lok shall skirt around the old Rudrasagar Lake, which will be revived as a part of the redevelopment project.
