New Delhi: Atal Bridge, which connects the eastern and western sides of the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahemdabad is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi shared a glimpse of the bridge ahead of his two-day Gujrat visit. Tweeting the photographs of the bridge, he wrote, “Doesn’t the Atal Bridge look spectacular!”
The iconic 300-meter foot-over bridge has a unique design and is decked with eye-catching LED lighting. Named after former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the bridge will provide connectivity to Multi-level car parking and various public development on East and West Bank from plaza between Flower Park and Event Ground at West Bank to the proposed art/cultural/exhibition center on East Bank.
PM Modi will also participate in Khadi Utsav being organized at the Sabarmati Riverfront today. The event is expected to witness 7,500 Khadi artisans from across Gujarat spinning charkha. PM Modi will inaugurate the Smriti Van Memorial in Bhuj tomorrow, which will carry the names of the people who died in the devastating 2001 earthquake.
