The consequences of these heavy rains have been particularly pronounced in northern India, where flood like conditions have emerged along the Yamuna river near Delhi.
Continuous rainfall on Sunday has resulted in widespread flooding of roads and residential areas across cities and towns in this region. The excess precipitation has placed immense pressure on municipal infrastructure. In light of these circumstances under Prime Minister Narendra Modis’ guidance the Indian government remains closely involved in monitoring events and coordinating relief efforts for affected regions.
