Bhopal: Kailash Vijayvargiya, the National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday claimed that there was a big role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the fall of the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh in March. The claim by the National General Secretary, however, was presented in a joking way, as the crowd listening to his speech appeared to be laughing when Vijayvargiya made the statement.
At a rally in Indore, Vijayvargiya initiated the matter with a – “I haven’t told this to anyone till now”, adding, “I am making it public for the first time from this stage. If anyone played an important role in pulling down the Kamal Nath government, it was Narendra Modi and not (Union Minister) Dharmendra Pradhan. Pradhan, along with Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra, was also present at the rally.
The speech was made according to the collapse of the Nath government in March, when former MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with 22 others, joined the BJP quitting the Congress. The Congress has also made similar claims, alleging that the BJP was behind the fall of Congress government in various states, including Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
According to Narendra Saluja, the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson, the statement made by Vijayvargiya was the proof for their claim. “Country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi pulls down the constitutionally elected government of the Congress in an unconstitutional manner”, Saluja tweeted, adding, “BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has himself revealed this.”
