Jharkhand: To boost infrastructural development in the state and improve connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Deaoghar Airport in Jharkhand. The Airport is estimated to be worth 400 crores. PM Modi, in Jharkhand, today unveiled development projects worth Rs. 16,800 Crores. Chief Minister Hemant Soren was present at the event and stated that the Deoghar Airport was planned way back in 2010 and it’s a matter of great pride for the people of Jharkhand that it is ready to operate now. PM Modi while addressing the crowd said that the development projects give an impetus to the living standards of people, enhance tourism, and will boost the overall prospects of the state.

The Airport terminal has a capacity to handle over 5 Lakhs passengers annually. Equipped with world-class facilities, the airport will provide direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, one of the most sacred abodes of Shiva.

Meanwhile, Desoghar Airport is the second international airport in Jharkhand after Ranchi. This airport is said to be the 68th destination that will provide connectivity to Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi under UDAN scheme. PM Modi will reach Patna in the evening today to take part in the closing ceremony of the Cenetenary Celebrations of Bihar Legislative Assembly.
