Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth ₹2,700 crore in Puducherry. These projects include infrastructure, urban services, industrial development, education, healthcare, and sustainable growth. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Narendra Modi said, “When I first came here, I gave the mantra of BEST Puducherry. BEST stands for Business, Education, Spirituality, and Tourism. Over the last four and a half years, this vision has borne fruit. Puducherry has seen good governance and development.” Modi said that when the central and union territory governments work together, results are achieved quickly.
The PM further said, “These projects will transform the lives of the people of Puducherry.” The PM launched several key initiatives, including the launch of e-buses under the PM e-Bus Seva initiative, the Integrated Command and Control Centre under the Smart Cities Mission, tenements for economically weaker sections under the City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain (CITIIS) initiative, and key government projects in the sewerage and water supply sectors.
PM Modi will inaugurate eight newly built railway stations in Tamil Nadu today. He will dedicate the fourth line between Chennai Beach and Chennai Egmore to the nation. After this, he will also inaugurate infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 4,400 crore in Madurai. He will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of the Marakkanam-Puducherry section of NH-332A and the Paramakudi-Ramanathapuram section of NH-87 at around 3 pm.
