New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 91 FM Transmitters of 100 Watts today, 28 April, through Video conferencing at 10:30 AM in 84 districts across 18 states and 2 union territories. This will be helpful as it’ll provide FM Connectivity boost all over the country, and the Government is working to enhance FM Connectivity as much as possible.
“Inauguration of 91FM transmitters will revolutionise the radio industry in India”, tweeted PM Modi with a video of the conference.
The Prime Minister’s Office said, “The government has been committed to enhancing FM connectivity in the country. The 91 new 100 Watt FM transmitters have been installed in 84 districts across 18 States and 2 Union Territories”. The reports also said that focus would be made towards coverage of Aspirational and Border areas.
The Prime Minister’s Office further said that “The States and UTs covered include Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands”.
The reports say this will allow more than 2 crore people to access the FM and increase the connectivity by 35 thousand square kilometres. This will also help Prime Minister Mann Ki Baat, near its 100th episode milestone, reach out to people as much as possible.
