Agra: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the construction work of the Agra metro project today at 12 noon through video conferencing.
In his tweet yesterday, Modi had said that the Agra metro project will boost the ease of living for the people in Agra, and it will be helpful to the thousands of tourists as well.
Yesterday, the post by the Prime Minister on his Twitter handle read – “At 12 noon tomorrow, 7th December, construction work of the Agra Metro Project will commence. This project is spread across two corridors and will boost ‘Ease of living’ for the people of Agra as well as benefit tourists who visit this vibrant city”.
The overall length of the project is 29.4 kilometers, while it comprises 2 corridors. The project connects the prime tourist attractions in the city, including the Taj Mahal, Sikandra, Agra Fort, along with the bus stands and the railway stations.
The estimated cost for the project is Rs.8,379 crores. The project will be completed in the next 5 years. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri also attended the inaugural event.
