In preparation for the official launch of the Delhi section of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) on Sunday, January 5, the Ghaziabad traffic police have issued guidelines designed to clarify traffic flow during the event. The proposed corridor of the RRTS will be 12 kilometers, passing through Sahibabad station in Ghaziabad, across Anand Vihar in Delhi, and terminating at New Ashok Nagar. This section is part of a much extended 82-kilometer Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS facility envisaged to bring travel time between the national capital and Meerut closer to one hour only.
Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the event and will probably make a visit to Sahibabad RRTS station and travel on the Namo Bharat train Inaugurated Newly Built New Ashok Nagar Station. In preparation for the “proposed VVIP visit in Commissionerate Ghaziabad,” the traffic police have implemented restrictions from 7:00 AM to the end of the program. The following restrictions will affect several routes with a view to realizing security and inconvenience.
As per the advisory, no heavy, medium, or light commercial vehicles will be allowed to ply between Mohan Nagar and the entrance of Hindon Air Force Station. There will also be no movement allowed from Mohan Nagar to UP Gate, including from Karangate roundabout towards Hindon entry Airforce gate. Moreover, all types of vehicles from the Rotary roundabout through Nagdwar into the Air Force Station will be completely prohibited.
In addition, the traffic will be completely sealed for vehicular movement between the Hindon Air Force Station and Vaishali Metro Station (Mohan Nagar). The traffic police have appealed to the populace to use other roads, and four important phone numbers have been given out. The advisory has been sounded by the Additional DCP of the traffic department to make a secure and safe experience for both the dignitaries and other common people.
