The Opposition members on Wednesday interrupted Union Home Minister Amit Shah as he began his speech during the Operation Sindoor debate in Rajya Sabha, eventually staging a walkout. The members were demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence in the House to answer questions raised by them.
“Shah interrupted the Opposition’s chants, stating they would face greater difficulty if they bypassed him to contact the Prime Minister directly. He asserted that since PM Modi was present, he himself would address their concerns, questioning their insistence on hearing from the Prime Minister.”
Meanwhile, the issue of arrest of two nuns on charges of conversion and human trafficking in Chhattisgarh has heated up from the state to Delhi. Today, during the zero hour of the Parliament session, Durg Lok Sabha MP Vijay Baghel raised this sensitive issue in the House. He said, two nuns were taking tribal daughters of Bastar to Agra after human trafficking and conversion at Durg railway station, who were saved by our aware citizens of Durg district.
Raipur MP and senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agarwal has expressed serious concern over the planned conversions being carried out targeting the tribal society. He has accused the Congress and opposition parties of conspiring to spoil the demography of the country in the case of the nuns arrested recently. He said that the entire opposition, including the Congress, wants to make the country a hub of conversions. The tribal society in particular is being taken away from their traditional beliefs through greed, temptation and pressure. This is not just a matter of religious faith, but a direct attack on the social unity and cultural values of the country.
