NEW DELHI: The fact check organization of India- Press Information Bureau (PIB) dismissed claims of lockdown in the country in view of the sudden uptick in COVID-19 cases.
As per the claim- the government has announced the closure of schools and colleges for the next 15 days. Officials have debunked the news calling it fake. Taking to Twitter they wrote-
“Many news are being shared on social media claiming that due to #Covid19 there will be a lockdown in the country and schools/colleges will remain closed.”
“All these claims are bogus,” it added.
Schools across the northern parts of the country, however, have been closed in view of the chilly winds coming from the Himalayas. The IMD today issued an alert for cold waves across Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, and UP for the upcoming 4-5 days. Rajasthan has been issued an orange alert in view of the temperatures dropping to 3 degrees.
