Jammu and Kashmir Phase 2 Voting: Phase 2 Voting in Jammu and Kashmir began today morning at 7 AM for 26 assembly constituencies. 25.78 lakh voters had to cast their votes. According to the data released by the Election Commission of India, 46% voter turnout was witnessed till 3 PM in 26 seats across the state. The highest voting took place in Reasi while the lowest was in Srinagar where voter turnout was 22.62%.

Amid tight security, long queues of people were seen outside the polling booths, officials told PTI. This phase, which includes 15 constituencies in the Kashmir division and 11 in Jammu, will determine the fate of high-profile faces like Abdullah, BJP’s J&K chief Ravinder Raina. J&K Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra is also in the fray from the Central Shalteng seat.
The Ministry of External Affairs has invited a delegation of diplomats from 16 countries, including the US, Norway and Singapore, to observe the exercise.
