The allegations regarding government surveillance on specific people has no concrete basis or truth associated with it whatsoever, the centre has said in its response. The government will not back down from putting up a strong defense in the Pegasus spyware scandal, sources have informed.
However, the colossal population of the nation has turned towards the government demanding answers.
CPI Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Viswam has given suspension of business notice under Rule 267 over the revelations of the scale use of Pegasus spyware in India.
Similarly, AAP MP Sanjay Singh has also demanded a discussion in the Rajya Sabha on the Pegasus spying case under Rule 267. Sanjay Singh has demanded cancelling of the predetermined subjects of the House in order to hold a discussion on the Pegasus row of spying on journalists and other personalities. In a tweet on Monday morning, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “We know what he’s been reading- everything on your phone! #Pegasus”
A conglomerate of news media across the world on Sunday, published reports claiming that the Israeli spyware, Pegasus, was used by several governments across the world to spy on their journalists, politicians and other prominent citizens. Pegasus spyware is classified as a weapon by Israel and any export of the technology that can be covertly installed on any device to spy activities of the user.
