In an incident shrouded in mystery that took place on the streets of Sialkot, Pakistan it has been reported that Shahid Latif, a terrorist, was killed by attackers. This information came to light on Wednesday, providing some insight into the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to reports, Latif was allegedly. Fatally wounded inside a mosque located on the outskirts of Sialkot. The assailants swiftly fled the scene on a motorcycle, leading law enforcement to secure the area. It is worth noting that Shahid Latif has been identified as the mastermind behind the 2016 Pathankot terror attack. He had orchestrated this assault from Sialkot. Sent four JeM (Jaish e Mohammed) terrorists to Pathankot to carry out the operation.
Before his demise, Shahid Latif was known to be a member of Jaish e Mohammed, a designated organization. He was also listed as a wanted individual by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Shahid Latif’s background includes his arrest in India back in November 1994 when he faced terrorism charges related to the Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act (UAPA). After being convicted and serving his sentence there, he was subsequently deported to Pakistan through the Wagah border in 2010.
Latif’s participation also included the hijacking of an Indian Airlines aircraft in 1999, which further worsened his criminal record. According to investigations carried out by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Shahid Latif went back to Pakistan after being released in 2010 and allegedly continued his operations within the network known as the “Jihadi factory.”
In a related development, the National Investigation Agency filed a chargesheet in a Karnataka court against two individuals accused of raising funds to support the activities of the Pakistan-based terror group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). These individuals were also allegedly involved in attempting to radicalize and recruit susceptible Muslim youth in India to join the banned terrorist organization for the purpose of carrying out violent jihad. The charges against them encompass various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Indian Penal Code.
