Parliamentary affairs will continue in the Lok Sabha as well as in the Rajya Sabha on the eighth day of the Winter Session on Wednesday. Lok Sabha believes that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to introduce The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024, in the lower house of the Indian Parliament. This is a bill to amend the Disaster Management Act of 2005 and is on the schedule for discussion during the day.

On Tuesday, what typically forms the highlight of Parliament, that is, the Question Hour, was largely incident-free. Jaishankar was specific on the recent disengagement along the LAC and observed subtle changes in the relations between India and China. Furthermore, after the one-week impasse that essentially paralyzed the sitting, the government and the opposition agreed to have a debate on the Constitution.

To the same in Lok Sabha, elaborating and supporting the government’s overall railway station modernization projects, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that there are approximately 1300 stations that they are dreaming of upgrading across the country now. This plan lies in the passenger area as well as the infrastructure development where the coalition has promised to bring a new, modern, rigorous railway system.

Specifically, in Rajya Sabha DMK MP, P. Wilson will seek to know the individuals who were found involved in the NEET paper leak in 2024 as well as measures that were taken against those involved and measures that the Ministry of Education under Dharmendra Pradhan intends to take going forward to ensure that such incidences do not happen in the future. At the same time, Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala has given a Suspension of Business Notice under Rule 267 in Rajya Sabha and wanted a discussion on legal assurance to MSP to farmers.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh has also given a Suspension of Business notice to Rajya Sabha under rule 267 seeking discussion on the Adani issue and also Zero Hour Notice on Appointment of Bus Marshals and Civil Defence Volunteers. These developments suggest a busy day in Parliament.
