New Delhi: As the disruptions continued on the second day of the monsoon session of parliament despite requests by the chair speaker  to maintain the decorum,  Lok sabha was a joint session till 2 p.m. The Rajya Sabha was also adjourned till 12 noon  as opposition cornered  the Centre  over various issues including Pegasus snooping controversy.

Ahead of the second day of the monsoon session the BJP held a meeting  which was attended by all the members of the party including the Prime minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah. Sources report that Congress Lok Sabha members also met at the CPP office today at 10:30 a.m. to chalk out the floor strategy on the issue of the Pegasus project.

Opposition parties Congress, the Trinamool Congress, Arvind Kejriwal AAM Aadmi party and CPM had given notices under rule 267 in Rajya Sabha demanding suspension of the scheduled business of the house to discuss the Pegasus spyware controversy.

It today session the Loksabha would present The Factoring (regulation) Amendment Bill 2020, the National Institutes of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Bill 2021 while in Rajya Sabha IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw would make statements regarding compromise of phone data of some persons as reported in the media bill for consideration and passing additionally present  the Marine  Navigation Bill 2021.

Since the pandemic began three sessions of the parliament were curtailed while the winter session last year had to be cancelled. The monsoon session which usually starts in July, began in September last year due to the outbreak.
