The United Nations Security Council organized a session demanding that India and Pakistan reduce military actions while actively engaging in conversation to address their differences. During their session with Islamabad, the members of the UNSC asked Pakistan about Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) activities in the attack, while strongly denying that India conducted a staged operation in the Pahalgam attack.
Pakistani forces sustained their unauthorized fire across the Line of Control (LoC) and international border in Jammu and Kashmir during the 12th consecutive night, following the Pahalgam attack. The Indian Army documented violations from sectors covering Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch and Rajauri, Mendhar, Naushera and Sunderbani, and Akhnoor areas. The Indian forces reacted swiftly and in equal proportion to stop the imminent threat.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs instructed every one of the 244 civil defence designated districts to execute mock drills on May 7. The drills were established for operation at both village-level and higher-level locations as part of the new readiness protocols. The homeland security review meetings led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi produced the official directive. The Prime Minister received updates about national operational preparedness from Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, along with Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi.
The Pakistani government has increased both its military tactics and verbal public statements. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned that Pakistan would strike back forcefully if India made a military attack at any time. Army Chief General Asim Munir demonstrated his resolve when he declared Pakistan would use its complete military power to protect national sovereignty. The members of Pakistan’s Parliament showed their disapproval of India’s actions by passing a resolution that also accused New Delhi of running a negative news campaign.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology in India expressed concerns regarding influencers at that time.
