New Delhi: India recorded 7,219 fresh infections in the past 24 hours taking the tally to 4,44,49,726. The recovery rate at 98.68 per cent accounted for 9,651 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,38,65,016.
The daily positivity rate stood at 1.98 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 56,745 accounting for 0.13 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 2,645 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 25 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,27,965.
With the administration of 25,83,815 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 213.01 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. According to the health ministry, More than 201.88 crore (2,01,88,89,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 5.73 Cr (5,73,31,800) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, it added.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,64,886 infected samples. So far, 88.68 crore tests have been conducted.
