New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing second half of the Budget session 2022-23, oppositions today staged a walkout from Lok Sabha agitating against the striking hike in commercial fuel and LPG.

Members of TMC, Congress, DMK, NCP and Left Parties raised slogans demanding a rollback. The issues raised during the Question Hour of the lower house were disregarded by Speaker Om Birla who asked them to question after the hour.

Raising the issue after Question Hour, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdary slammed the centre on its two-faced election manifesto which claimed election had no connection with the fuel prices.

Speculations on price hikes on the fuel were around the corner as the election results were declared. It is being said that the Centre steered away from surcharges in view of the elections that would have gone astray had they done so.

Petrol and Diesel prices on Tuesday were hiked by 80 paise while the domestic LPG was increased by Rs 50 ending the four and half months that the centre had adopted in rate revision.
