New Delhi: In light of the ongoing chaos over the reinstatement of 12 suspended MPs, the Parliament has been witnessing several adjournments. The opposition has called to hold a march from Gandhi Statue in Parliament to Vijay Chowk at 12:30 pm tomorrow, demanding the resignation of MoS Home Ajay Kumar Mishra, in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri case.
Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned until 2 pm minutes after beginning today’s proceedings. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu asked members to allow the house to function and adjourned the proceedings when the opposition MPs carrying placards sloganed in the well of the house. Minutes after the introduction of the ‘Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, the Lok Sabha recorded a huge uproar by the opposition following which the house was adjourned until 2 pm.
Earlier today, the opposition had held a discussion after which it announced to boycott the meeting held by the government. They made it clear, having no intention of budging from their demands of revocation of suspension of 12 MPs who were penalized for their ‘unruly behaviour’.
