New Delhi: A large portion of North India remains under the influence of a new Western Disturbance, bringing heavy rains, lightning, and hail in isolated areas. The weather system, which has affected this area since the beginning of this week, is set to stay dominant for the days ahead, with unfriendly weather prevailing until April 10.
According to the IMD, the weather system is causing rainfall in the ranges of light to moderate in the areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. While snowfall is being seen in higher altitudes of the Himalayas, there are major temperature variations and squalls on the plains.
Rain has been continuing in Uttar Pradesh for the past two days. According to the Meteorological Department, the rain has not stopped in the state yet. Due to the rain, temperatures have dropped in the state. The temperature in the capital Lucknow has also decreased, bringing some relief from the heat.
