Kolkata: On Wednesday in Kanthi in the Purba Medinipur district, PM Modi slammed Mamata Banerjee, CM of West Bengal for calling his party leaders outsiders. He said that Bengal was the land of icons like Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, and Subhas Chandra Bose and no Indian is an outsider.

He further added, “The very Bengal from where Gurudev weaved every Indian in one garland and gave us- Punjab Sindh Gujarat Maratha Dravida Utkala Banga, Vindhya Himachal Yamuna Ganga Utkal Jaldhi Tarang, in same Bengal, Didi is talking about Indians being outsiders”.

The Chief Minister of Bengal had taken pot-shots at the BJP leadership for sending its leaders from the other states to Bengal to strategize in the elections. The PM said, “We are being called ‘tourists’, fun is being made of us, we are being insulted. Didi, people of Rabindranath’s Bengal don’t consider anybody an outsider”. The PM’s supporters were cheering loudly for him in the rally.

Modi alleged Mamata’s government for depriving the farmers of modern technology. He said, “BJP is vocal for locals. It is our commitment. Bengal’s farmers can’t forget how cruel the CM was when she devoid them of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Didi became an enemy of farmers”. He even asserted that the BJP government will work very hard for Bengal’s future. The elections in Bengal will start on March 27 and the counting of votes will take place on May 2.
