Bihar: With the massive developments in Bihar politics, the Nitish Kumar govt will begin its first Bihar assembly session on August 24th and in yet another canny move the RJD and JD(U) alliance has to prove its majority with the speaker from BJP, Nitish’ former partner.

The Mahagatbandhan government wants this session to last till August 25 so that the floor test can be conducted. Moreover, the resolution for the removal of the Speaker might also be passed during these two days. Speaking to the media on Thursday, Sinha who is a BJP MLA confirmed receiving a letter from Kumar but was tightlipped about its contents. As per sources, he is unlikely to step down as the Speaker.

The resolution came after 55 legislators from the Mahagathbandahna moved a no-confidence motion against Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha. The mahagathbandhan has the support of 164MLAs, several more than 122 needed in the House of 243.

5 years after returning to NDA foot, the JD(U) took a U-turn on Tuesday and reunited with RJD, Congress and Left once again.
