New Delhi: National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet on Monday, nearly seven months after the Pahalgam terror attack. In 1597-page chargesheet submitted by NIA, it detailed the involvement of Pakistan in the conspiracy and named the banned terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF).
The chargesheet filed within the statutory 180-day deadline names four terrorists, including Pakistani handler terrorist Sajid Jatt in the chargesheet, which was filed before the NIA Special Court in Jammu. The other three terrorists are Faisal Jatt alias Suleman Shah, Habeeb Tahir alias Jibran and Hamza Afghani, who were killed by security personnel during Operation Mahadev in Srinagar’s Dachigam area in July this year.
The NIA has so far questioned over 1,000 people, including tourists, pony owners, photographers, shopkeepers, and employees. The NIA informed the court that further forensic reports, mobile phone data analysis, and verification of additional suspects are underway to establish the full extent of the terrorist network and the role of overground workers.
