Orissa: On the rising concern of the covid 19 pandemic, the Bhubaneswar government has banned any kind of New Year celebration in public places. Also, it has implemented a law when no “zero hour” celebrations are allowed.

The Bhubaneswar municipal corporation (BMC) has ordered to avoid all types of social gatherings in public places and has urged people to stay indoors and abide by the covid safety protocols.

The decision comes after Odisha recorded 3 deaths and 234 new covid cases on Sunday itself. No hotels, restaurants, clubs, or mandaps are allowed to host the “zero hour” celebration during New Year’s Eve. Strict punishment shall be imposed on those who are found to break the law.

Odisha has suffered a corona wave like many other states of India in which the death toll has touched almost 1900 by far. The total number of active cases stands at 2500+ where the number of total people affected by far crossed 3 lakh. But it is good news that most of them have recovered till now and thus, maintaining the covid rules shall ensure fighting with the virus easily.
