Bhopal: The new system of the commercial license fees has been implemented in Bhopal. Now instead of 250 types of commercial charges, 3 types of rates will be applicable according to the roads. Street vendors have been kept under the exemption. Commissioner KVS Chaudhary Kolsani has also issued orders in this regard. Now the license fee will be charged from the traders according to the area (size). On the lines of Hyderabad, instead of the type of business, the commercial license fee will have to be paid according to the width of the road and the size of the shop.

The business fee has been fixed at Rs 250 and a maximum of Rs 50,000. At present, a business fee of Rs 45 to 25 thousand is levied on 252 types of business. The new system will imply the amount which has been fixed at Rs 4 per square foot for streets and a road with a width of up to 7 and a half meters. 5 rupees per square foot on the double road and main road (wide from 7.5 to 15 meters). For 4 lanes or more lanes (width more than 15 meters), there will be a fee of Rs 6 per square foot. For a radius of 100 meters on both sides of the four-lane road, a fee will be charged at the rate of Rs.6 per square foot. The minimum fee for the raw and small shops has been fixed at Rs 250. Rs. 500 will be charged for a pucca shop.

The new rates of commercial license have become effective from the day the standing order has been issued. However, such dealers have already deposited the license fee before the issue of the said standing order. Such licenses will be considered valid till March 31st 2022. The recovery of the commercial license fee will be succeeded by the concerned zone officer and ward in charge. Each license will be issued for the financial year. The license can be renewed through an online system before the end of the financial year. The annual license fee can be deposited without any surcharge till July 31st.
